Frequently asked questions
Which passivation colours are available?
Clear (blue), yellow, black and white passivation are applied to ASTM-B633. Yellow gives the highest corrosion resistance; trivalent chromium alternatives are available.
How long does it last in salt spray?
Depending on thickness and passivation, 96–200 hours to white rust and 200–500 hours to red rust in ASTM-B117 are typical; the quotation states the target hours from the specification.
