Metal Finishing – Plating & Coating
Silver Plating
High electrical and thermal conductivity with good solderability; for RF and power transmission components.
Process
Electrochemical plating providing corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity and reflectivity. Common in electronics, aerospace and defense.
What it provides
- High electrical conductivity
- Reflective surface
Frequently asked questions
Where is silver plating used?
RF waveguides, power connectors, busbars and sliding contacts, where it gives the highest electrical and thermal conductivity. AMS-2410, AMS-2411, ASTM-B700 and QQ-S-365 apply.
Is tarnish protection applied?
Yes. Where the specification allows, a chromate or organic anti-tarnish is applied; thickness and treatment are stated in the quotation.
Have a drawing for this process?
Send your technical drawing or 3D CAD model through our secure channel. Our engineering team replies with a quotation against the specification.
