Metal Finishing – Plating & Coating
Ceramic-Based Coating (Cerakote)
Thin ceramic-based protective coating for surfaces requiring high-temperature, wear and chemical resistance; used on weapon and equipment parts.
Process
Ceramic-based finish used especially on weapon systems. Provides corrosion and physical damage resistance in a range of colors; suitable for camouflage pattern application.
What it provides
- High corrosion and scratch resistance
- Long-lasting color and texture
- Wide color range
Frequently asked questions
Where is Cerakote used?
Weapon bodies, barrels, optic mounts and equipment parts; the film is about 25 µm and gives high-temperature, chemical and scratch resistance. The colour range includes military tones.
What preparation is needed?
The surface is blasted for profile, degreased and oven-cured; preparation and cure records are delivered with the part.
